PORTRAITS OF A TIMELESS NATION

I rediscovered my origins on a trip across the rural areas of the Dominican Republic, my native land. I left there when I was 7 to move to Europe with my family, yet my memories are so alive and bright. With this project, I wanted to show to the world that the DR is not just golden beaches and palm trees. Instead, it's a harsh habitat for its people, where education, healthcare and safety are not granted to anyone. However, I was able to witness that despite their living conditions, people are kind and willing to help, and they are a proud population that hasn’t been bent from decades of corruption, poverty and land exploitation.
